ADJA New Ownership
As of August 13, 2025, we are pleased to announce that the transfer of ownership of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) and Photobooth Association (PBA) is complete.
The new owner of the ADJA and PBA is the highly respected industry leader, Jim Robinson.
Based in Orlando, Florida, Jim Robinson is the President and co-founder of Promo Only, a leading provider of music and music video content to DJs since 1992. An accomplished DJ himself and a long-time ADJA member, Jim also owns Electro-Magic Productions, founded in 1985, a premier DJ company specializing in large sound, lighting, and music video productions, as well as club DJ management services in Central Florida. With decades of experience both DJing and running industry-leading companies, Jim has built a reputation for innovation and professionalism, and has a deep commitment to the DJ community.
The close personal connection and friendship between Dr. Drax and Jim Robinson cannot be understated. Their partnership goes back decades and never faltered. They always had the greatest mutual respect and admiration for one another. We are thrilled that Dr. Drax’s longtime friend will carry on the tradition of excellence that has been the ADJA’s trademark for decades.
As this new chapter of the ADJA begins, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of this rich history and ever-progressing story. It began with the formation of the ADJA in the 1990’s with John Roberts and Bruce Keslar, to the several presidents; Ken Knotts, Mark “Peace” Thomas, Peter Merry and Dr. Drax. To the National Directors and Chapter Leaders throughout the United Stateswho worked tirelessly on behalf of their colleagues. There were numerous ADJA award recipients, sponsored events, conferences andindustry partners who always believed in our mission to help DJ’s build and grow their business through education, networking and support. But most importantly, it was YOU the members of the ADJA (past and present) who continue to be the heartbeat of this organization and what makes it a family. This is your story.
I invite you to join me in supporting Jim Robinson as the new owner of the ADJA and PBA. He is the perfect person at the perfect time to carry the torch as the new Owner and President of the flagship organization for mobile DJ’s and Photobooth entrepreneurs. May the dream continue!
Sincerely,
Brian S Graham, National Secretary of the American Disc Jockey Association
