Ed Frank – 2009 Michael Butler Award Recipient
Ed Frank – Recipient of the 2009 Michael Butler Award for Humanitarian Service. When Jeff Gibson was injured in a Jet Ski accident and almost lost his life, not only did Ed Frank inform the DJ world of the accident but he also stepped in and, according to Jeff, covered all of Jeff’s events accepting no money in return. He organized several DJ backed send out card drives for people in the hospital that just needed cards including Jeff Gibson. He called Jeff from the DJA dinner in Indianapolis when Peter Merry was in town to speak at an event and made sure everyone wished him well. He also did the same thing at Mobile Beat Las Vegas calling Jeff from the DJA dinner and passing the phone around until the battery died. When another member was injured in a skydiving accident, Ed was one of the first to call & offer to help cover events for him. Ed embodies the spirit of the Michael Butler award & that is why he was the 2008 Winner.

Robbie Britton – 2009 Peter Merry Leadership Award Recipient
Robbie Britton – The Recipient of the 2009 Peter Merry Leadership Award Aside from working closely with Drax to set-up the ADJA Networking referral card, and the Randy Bartlett DVD referral program. Robbie Britton also saw a need to bring top leaders & trainers to his little market. Instead of being discouraged, he started the ARMDJS conference. ARMDJS was arguably the most successful regional small market show ever. On his first try he nailed it in the middle of nowhere. He set a standard for regional shows at ARMSDJ. DJ Skribble – DJSkribble.com
DJ Skribble – Skribble forever changed the way that DJs are perceived— he raised the bar with his music, his hustle and larger than life personality. He is one of the first DJs that made everyone stand up and take notice that the person playing the records could be as big a celebrity as the musicians themselves.

When you look at Skribble’s credits you wonder if there is anything left for him to do. As a member of the Young Black Teenagers he created a sound that defined the times. As a solo artist he has spun with the forefathers of hip-hop— Grandmaster Flash for one—to one of the best MCs to have ever lived—the Notorious B.I.G. He kept New York moving as a hip-hop DJ on the top urban station (Hot 97.1), as well as spinning house on KTU. And his face was universally recognized from the half dozen MTV shows he hosted (The Grind, Spring Break, Sisqo’s Shakedown). It’s amazing he still found time to perform 200 plus live shows a year.

Though the music sounds a little different today, Skribble is still one of the most demanded DJs out there. He’s taken his sound to a new level, doing gigs with Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction. Their show is a rock-electro live remix experience that showcases the genius of each of their talents. With Skribble’s mad skills on the turntables, and Dave’s notorious guitar riffs the two play off each other to create a unique experience with every gig.

As a solo artist, Skribble remains one of the most captivating DJs to watch and listen to. He has taken his own musical journey through hip-hop, into house and come back full circle to hip-hop. His skills have only grown as his musical tastes have changed. His ability to combine new sounds into his already established repertoire have made his shows both innovative and familiar—it’s the Skribble everyone knows and loves, with a little extra on top.Speaker Bio

Richard Krasowski Jr. – Rock-N-Roll To Go
Rich Richard Krasowski Jr. – DJ Rich Krasowski has been involved in music his whole life. Growing up Chicago, Rich was involved in theater and music with performances in over 50 theatrical plays and musicals beginning when he was just ten years old. He toured with, and directed local choirs and studied voice with Bernard Izzo, from the Chicago Lyric Opera. He majored in Music Education, Speech, Communications and Theatre at North Central College. He is a trained vocalist and musician. He also worked as an on-air personality at WONC FM89 in the Chicago area. He began working as a mobile DJ in 1980 when a friend couldn’t afford a band for their wedding, and asked Rich to play records. Because he had been singing for weddings and playing in wedding bands for many years, (and had a large record collection) it seemed only natural to emcee the entire reception. That night, ten couples asked for his card…….and fun began! For over 27 years, Rich has entertained as a mobile DJ, and a professional public speaker for thousands of events. Over the years, his company, Rock-N-Roll To Go, grew to include VJ services, event pod casting and includes most of his family and musical friends. Theatrical lighting has always been a part of his company’s entertainment packages (even that very first job!). He has never charged extra for lighting…it’s always just been included…outstanding lighting was something that his company was known for. After years of trying to make his lighting set up easier and faster, and years of replacing light fixtures that were damaged during travel, he was looking for a new way to protect the fixtures, make set up fast and easy and have each one of his events’ lighting effects look the same…no matter which of his DJ’s was working the event.

About five years ago, Rich attended a Brittany Spears concert (because his buddy Steve drove her bus)…and he didn’t leave after the show was over. He sat in his concert seat, waiting for Steve, and watched the roadies breaking everything down. They lowered the large overhead trusses to the floor, unplugged them…and rolled them away into crates. It was then that the idea for Rock-N-Roll To Go Lighting Systems was born! It would be perfect for his DJ business…just on a smaller scale! Roll in small, lightweight box trusses with protected fixtures. Use them in the vertical position. Make them all the same for each one of his company set ups. After a year of engineering, and various changes, he began using them at his company’s events. They were an instant success with audiences…and especially his employees! Less than two minutes to set up and tear down, bigger and better than his competitors…and they looked great no matter what kind of event. When Rich’s company attended local bridal shows in his area…the other mobile DJ’s wanted to know where he got his lighting systems……and the new company was born. Established as a corporation in 2007, and “rolled out” at the 2007 Mobile Beat Show in Las Vegas, Rock-N-Roll To Go Lighting Systems has continued to grow and now works out of a 1,400 square foot shop in New Port Richey, Florida. Rich’s wife Kathy is also an integral part of the company. They have three children. Rich is a proud member of the ADJA.
